The following illustration explains what changes when you choose to take advantage of deregulation and save money.

Current Process

Stage 1 - Electricity is generated at a power station.
Stage 2 - Next, the electricity is purchased in bulk and sent to your local electric company.
Stage 3 - From here, the electricity is dispersed over local power lines.
Stage 4 - Finally, the electricity is sent directly to your home or business.

What changes?

Stage 1 - This location will switch to Horizon Power & Light.
Stage 2 - Electricity is purchased from Horizon at a lower cost which is reflected on your monthly bill.
Stage 3 - You are provided the same level of service you have always received from your local electric company.
Stage 4 - You still receive the exact same bill from your current electric company; the only difference will be the lower price.
